After being around as a church for almost 25 years, I guess it was about time for us to enter the modern era. The website you are now visiting is still a work in progress. The information you find here is our best effort to describe for you what Grace Bible Church is like.
Once you have read about us on this website, it will probably come as no surprise that we are so far behind most others when it comes to this internet business. We are not exactly “cutting edge.” This not only applies to our technological advances, it also applies to our philosophy as a church. We are a traditional, conservative, evangelical fellowship of believers who are serious about learning and living the Word of God.
There are plenty of churches in the world today trying to grow by employing cutting edge techniques. The prevailing wisdom in the church today is that if it is old, it isn’t any longer relevant. We are inclined to disagree.
Too much of what the church attempts today mimics the strategies and philosophies of the business community. The “modern church growth movement” began as ambitious pastors began to survey the world to find out why they weren’t going to church. These pragmatic leaders sought to tailor the church setting to cater to those who otherwise had no interest in church. They started to “market” the church much like the business world markets products and services. Results were produced, but not without problems.
Our philosophy is a little different. At Grace Bible Church we believe the church is for the saints. The church exists to equip the saints for the work of ministry. Well-equipped saints then go into the world to evangelize the lost, engage in meaningful ministry, and exemplify the life and love of Christ to others.
We don’t compete with other churches for members by trying to offer a more exciting “worship” experience. Our music isn’t cutting edge, it is largely traditional. We don’t utilize a lot of media presentations. We prefer to facilitate heart-felt praise and worship of God. We pray for the needs of others. We focus on preaching the word of God. Our goal is to equip believers with life-changing biblical truth and embrace one another in true biblical fellowship.
