What will you find at Grace Bible Church of Muskogee?

You will find a group of imperfect but sincerely committed followers of the Lord Jesus Christ. While we do not always hit the mark as we would like, we do strive to love God with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength, and to love our neighbors as ourselves. (Luke 10:25-28) Because this is our commitment, you will find yourself among friends.

We come from a diverse background. We are people who have been saved by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 2:8-10) Our goal is to honor the Lord in our individual lives and to come together as a church to honor Him in corporate ministry. To accomplish this goal we emphasize meaningful ministry to the needs of others. This includes those within the church as well as others in the community. We desire to exemplify the life and love of Christ to those we encounter at church, in the community, and in our homes.

You will find a diverse range of ages in our church. While we are a small church, we have some young families, some middle aged couples with grown children, some retired couples, and about everything in between. You won’t have any trouble finding friendly folks to whom you can easily relate. It is not uncommon to find people hanging around our church for a long time after the services have dismissed. We want to be much more than a social gathering. We attempt to embrace one another in true biblical fellowship.

You will also find people who genuinely love the Bible. We are strongly committed to the expositional teaching of the word of God. The Scriptures are the centerpiece of our gathering. The purpose of our corporate gathering is to “proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ.” (Colossians 1:28) We attempt to equip the saints so they are able to leave the church building and go into the world to accomplish the work of ministry for the building up of the body of Christ. (Ephesians 4:12)

We also have a heart to reach people who have never truly responded to the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are committed to the proclamation of a biblical gospel. Our desire to minister in the name of Christ takes us to the Gospel Rescue Mission of Muskogee on the fourth Sunday afternoon of each month. We feed the folks who come for the evening meal and worship with them in the chapel service.

If you are interested in a church where commitment matters, learning God’s word is important, and being involved means more than coming to church on Sunday morning, perhaps you would like to visit.
